NOTICE OF ELECTIONANDNOTICE OF CENTRAL COUNTING PLACE Notice is hereby given to the qualified landowners in the Pleasant Valley County Water District and the Oxnard DrainageDistricts 1 & 2, State of California, that a Landowner General District Election will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 for the following offices:Pleasant Valley County Water District – 3 Directors Oxnard Drainage District 1 – 2 Directors Oxnard Drainage District 2 – 2 Directors Candidates for Pleasant Valley County Water District must be either an owner of land within the District, legal representative of the same, or a voter of the District, pursuant to Water Code §30511 and Elections Code §10514. Candidates for Oxnard Drainage Districts must be landowners of the District pursuant to Drainage District Act of 1903. Official nomination documents for eligible candidates who want to file for any of the elective offices may be obtained Monday, January 14, 2019 through Friday, February 8, 2019 from either the Ventura County Elections Division located in the Lower Plaza of the Administration Building, County Government Center, 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura or from the District Office at the following location: Oxnard Drainage District, 1050 South Kimball Road, Ventura. Candidates for the Pleasant Valley County Water District may obtain nomination documents only at the Ventura CountyElections Division. Nomination documents must be filed with the Ventura County Elections Division no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 8, 2019. If nomination papers for a district’s incumbent elective officer are not filed by February 8, 2019, the landowners shall have until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, to nominate candidates other than the incumbent. Appointment to each elective office will be made as prescribed by the Elections Code in the event: A. There are no nominees or an insufficient number of nominees for such office(s) and/orB. A petition signed by 10% or 50 voters in the district, whichever is the smaller number, requesting that an election be held has not been presented to the County Elections Division by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019. Pursuant to the Elections Code, the ballots will be counted at the Central Counting Place, County of Ventura ElectionsDivision, Hall of Administration, 800 South Victoria Avenue, Ventura, and shall be open to the public. Notice is further given that this election will be conducted using all-mailed ballots as provided by the Elections Code and there will be no polling place provided.
